“Why is my body broken?” “Is this all in my head?” “Why can’t my body just work like it’s supposed to?”

Chronic health conditions, especially those that doctors can’t quite seem to figure out the root cause of, can be debilitating to our mental health. Then our mental health can have a negative impact on our physical health, and so a vicious feedback loop begins.

What happens when you’ve tried a million things and still have no answers? How do you keep functioning? Especially when it’s an “invisible illness” and you “look fine” on the outside, it can be an awfully lonely road to travel.

My own healing from mysterious chronic health issues (characterized by various professionals as “stress,” candida/fungus, parasites, and heavy metals) involved a holistic physical, spiritual, and emotional wellness journey that culminated in me getting training in yoga, somatic movement, nutrition, and mental health. At one point, I was told I had the nervous system of a 55-year-old woman even though I was only 25 years old. I know how difficult and lonely this road can be, and I want to come alongside you to help your mind, body, and soul heal from the inside out.

Healing the Mind, Reconnecting with the Body

  • Releasing Trauma

Often, chronic, unexplained physical dis-ease has roots in mental and emotional trauma. When we no longer feel safe in our bodies, we dissociate, and emotions that desperately need to be released actually get trapped, causing dysregulation and dysfunction. We abandon our bodies because it's simply too painful to be in them. To begin to heal, we face our greatest fears and learn how to stay present within ourselves and move through pain (whether physical, mental, or emotional) rather than disconnecting from it. In therapy, we learn how to release our pain and anger in ways that heal rather than hurt ourselves.

  • Re-friending the Self

When we continue to suffer from chronic dis-ease, and we've tried everything we know to do, we can reach an existential crisis. What's the point of even trying? Why is what I do never good enough? We can become perfectionistic, obsessing over what we put in our bodies or what we do with our bodies, yet at the same time never feeling like it's enough. A huge part of therapy is learning to find Shalom peace within the pain, to bless your body when you feel like it is cursing you, and to give your body grace when it doesn't respond the way doctors, you, and others expect it to. To get curious rather than furious.

  • Reintegrating Mental, Emotional, & Physical Well-Being

Once we've discovered the mental and emotional roots of what's manifesting physically, learned how to let go of the built-up toxicity and move through the pain, and befriended our bodies again, we put all the pieces together to create a lifestyle that actually works. Whether your diagnosis ever changes, you can find a way to enjoy being alive and even thrive. To live in true gratitude and grace for your body. To process your pain in a healthy way, and expand your capacity for presence, love, and joy here on this earth.
