Therapy & Healing for Depression
Fort Worth + Online Across Texas
“Why can’t I just stop being depressed? I have so much to be thankful for!”
“I’ve prayed, I’ve tried to make myself feel better, I’ve read books…but this depression still isn’t going away. Will I ever feel happy again?”
Sound familiar?
Many people think depression is a problem to be solved. It is a natural response to get curious about.
Depression is a manifestation of the body’s “freeze” response. It is there to protect you, and together, we will find out why it’s there. It does NOT mean:
You just aren’t grateful enough
You don’t look on the bright side enough
You have some kind of moral failure
You don’t pray enough, read enough Scripture, or have enough faith
Or even necessarily that you’re what we would ordinarily think of as “sad”
While you may also choose medication or other lifestyle changes to help manage the side effects of depression, therapy can help get to the roots so that your mind and body feel safe enough to come out of the chronic freeze state.
Depression Rarely Walks Alone
Depression is one of the most common concerns people come to therapy with, even if they would have never thought of themselves as depressed. It often accompanies the following concerns as well:
Addiction
Trauma (including PTSD) or Abuse
Personality Disorders
OCD
